Thor (2011)
Thor is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The movie is the fourth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The story follows Thor, the powerful god of thunder from Asgard, who is arrogant and reckless. As punishment for his actions, his father Odin banishes him to Earth, stripping him of his powers and his mighty hammer, Mjolnir. On Earth, Thor meets astrophysicist Jane Foster and her team, who are studying a strange atmospheric phenomenon. Thor realizes that his brother Loki has betrayed Odin and taken over the throne of Asgard, and he must regain his powers and stop him. With the help of Foster and her team, Thor learns humility and compassion and earns the right to wield Mjolnir once again. Meanwhile, Loki sends the Destroyer, a powerful weapon, to Earth to kill Thor. In a thrilling battle, Thor defeats the Destroyer and returns to Asgard to confront Loki. Thor and his allies battle Loki and his army, and in the end, Loki is defeated and falls into a void. The movie ends with Thor being unable to return to Earth, but promising to see Foster again. Meanwhile, Odin acknowledges Thor's growth and worthiness to be king, setting the stage for future Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
